North Rhine-Westphalia: Rows of traffic violations at the wedding parade

Hagen (dpa / lnw) - Participants in a wedding parade drove through red traffic lights in Hagen, blocked off intersections and let their engines roar loudly again and again. Residents initially alerted the police because the wedding party had parked everything and celebrated on the street on Sunday. Despite warnings from the officials, the wedding party then drove through the city in a parade a little later - with loud horns, roaring engines and squeaking tires.

Even when the traffic lights were red, the parade just kept going. A 23-year-old drove to an intersection despite the red traffic light and blocked the traffic on the side street with his car so that the wedding party could travel freely. The police officers arrested the vehicles, took personal details and wrote numerous reports, including for coercion in road traffic, the police said on Tuesday.
