North Rhine-Westphalia: SC Paderborn: newcomer Klaas falls out with a cruciate ligament tear

Paderborn (dpa / lnw) - Second division football club SC Paderborn has had to do without its new signing Sebastian Klaas for a long time. The 23-year-old midfielder, who was signed by third division club VfL Osnabrück, tore the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the 2-2 friendly win against SC Verl on Saturday. The club announced this on Monday after an MRI scan. "We very much regret the injury and will do everything to ensure that Sebastian can be back on the pitch soon. He will certainly play an important role in our squad as the season progresses," said Paderborn's sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth.
