Krefeld (dpa / lnw) - A fake police officer made an 88-year-old in Krefeld throw him a five-figure sum of money out of the kitchen window. The wrong officer called the elderly woman Thursday and claimed her daughter caused a fatal traffic accident. However, the 88-year-old could still prevent her daughter from going to jail if she gave the police a five-figure sum of money.
The elderly woman actually had the requested amount in cash at home, put the money in envelopes and threw it out of the kitchen window into the front yard, as requested by the fake police officer. The money was picked up there. There was initially no trace of the perpetrators, the police said on Friday.
