Lüdenscheid (dpa / lnw) - After the shooting of a 40-year-old passer-by in Lüdenscheid, the search for the perpetrator continues. The investigators are preparing a public search based on video material, as the public prosecutor's office in Hagen announced on Monday. After a dispute, shots are said to have been fired from a group of six, which apparently hit a bystander. The homicide commission has already heard several witnesses. However, there is currently no concrete suspect.
At a fair in Lüdenscheid in the north-west of the Sauerland, there was a "physical altercation" between a 16-year-old and the group of six on Saturday evening. When the teenager and his 52-year-old father wanted to confront the group, they fled to a residential area.
According to the information, two of them fired shots from a starter gun and a live firearm while fleeing. The 40-year-old from Gummersbach was fatally hit. Police and prosecutors are now looking for information about the young men, who are estimated to be between 16 and 20 years old.
At the fair, which continued despite the incident, the security staff was strengthened after the incident, the organizers announced on Monday, "so that such clashes can be recognized even better and faster and prevented at an early stage".
One is convinced that the fair can be brought to a peaceful end, as in previous years, in order to give all visitors a few nice, carefree hours at the fair after a two-year break.
"As organizers, we deeply regret this incident and express our deepest sympathy to everyone involved and especially to the relatives of the deceased," said the organizers of the Steinert fair.
According to the police, the fugitives have a "southern phenotype". Four were dressed in dark, one with a gray jogging suit, one with a white T-shirt.
