North Rhine-Westphalia: Six police officers injured when deployed at the Moerser fair

Moers (dpa / lnw) - Six police officers were injured during an operation at the Moers fairgrounds. The officials were called for help on Tuesday because there had been a major fight at the fair, the Wesel district police authority reported on Wednesday. When officers arrived, those involved fled. But later there was another argument. When the police tried to separate the participants, a stranger sprayed them with tear gas. At the same time, bottles and glasses were thrown at the emergency services. An officer was injured by a punch.

A 17-year-old and an 18-year-old were taken into custody, police said. The police initiated several criminal proceedings, including for particularly serious breaches of the peace and resistance to law enforcement officers.
