North Rhine-Westphalia: snowfall expected in parts of NRW: ice warning

Essen (dpa / lnw) - On Friday it should snow in places in North Rhine-Westphalia at higher altitudes. The German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Friday that there could be light snowfall or snow grains in East Westphalia and Sauerland. In some areas it could become slippery due to fresh snow or freezing wet conditions.

The DWD expects temperatures of two to four degrees in NRW on Friday. During the day there should be precipitation - but at lower altitudes it should rain and not snow. In the night to Saturday it cools down to minus three degrees, especially in the mountains it could snow a little. Above a height of 300 meters there should be one to three centimeters of fresh snow.

According to the DWD, it will remain cold on Saturday and Sunday with temperatures from zero to four degrees. With the exception of a few snowflakes on Saturday, there should be mostly no precipitation over the weekend.
