Rödinghausen (dpa / lnw) - A 33-year-old is said to have attacked his parents in Rödinghausen (Herford district) and injured them with a tool. The father suffered minor injuries and the mother suffered serious injuries in the attack on Wednesday evening, police and prosecutors said on Thursday. The mother was taken to the hospital, her life is not in danger.
Witnesses had therefore reported to the police an altercation between two men. When emergency services arrived, they found the two injured parents. The 33-year-old initially fled and was arrested in the evening. A homicide detective is investigating.
The background to the crime is still unclear, said a police spokeswoman on Thursday. Further information on the course of the argument and the nature of the injuries could not be given.
