Essen (dpa / lnw) - People in North Rhine-Westphalia have to be prepared for stormy gusts and rain on Friday. The day is expected to start heavily overcast, but without precipitation. From noon, rain will move up, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced. Strong gusts are to be expected, in the mountains also with gusts of wind. The maximum temperatures are 8 to 12 degrees, on the Kahler Asten up to 5 degrees.
Saturday night will remain cloudy with occasional rain showers. Temperatures drop to 11 to 7 degrees. The stormy gusts are also expected to last into the night.
The New Year's day starts very cloudy and rainy at times. According to the DWD, the temperatures rise to a maximum of 15 to 18 degrees, and up to 12 degrees at high altitudes. Strong to stormy gusts are also to be expected on Saturday, with severe gusts of wind on crests.
