North Rhine-Westphalia: Stranger man and wrong room: bizarre bed story

Ascheberg (dpa / lnw) - A mysterious bed story has caused some confusion and unintentionally draws circles. One thing is certain: a drunk man in Ascheberg in Münsterland ended up in the wrong house, in the wrong room and in the wrong bed due to a mix-up and accidentally slept off his intoxication in the four walls of an uninvolved lady in the neighborhood, as the police announced on Monday. But: The stranger was not lying in the woman's bed - and she was not unnoticed next to the uninvited guest, as the police now reported after a detailed conversation with the person concerned.

The officials initially assumed that friends wanted to bring their drunk friend home, but then chose the wrong - not locked - front door and well-meaningly laid him next to the supposed partner in her bed. But it wasn't like that. The woman found the sleeping drunk in the guest bed of her house on Friday. On that day, an acquaintance of those affected reported on the strange case, the lady herself was no longer on site when the police arrived.

It remained unclear: Whether the man made it into the guest bed alone "or was put into bed by companions" can no longer be finally clarified. In any case, the front door was not locked. So the tired drunk could end up in the wrong house after the Schützenfest.

According to the police, the woman has been asked "many ways about the matter" since the incident, and some rumors have arisen. Although it was not a crime and nothing actually happened, the whole thing attracted unexpected attention.
