Marl (dpa / lnw) - In a field in Marl near Recklinghausen, straw burst into flames over an area of ​​1000 square meters. The fire quickly ate through the stubble field on Sunday, the emergency services said. The flames sometimes reached meters high. Some farmers from the neighborhood also rushed to help and support the emergency services by pulling the dry straw out of the area of ​​the fire and driving aisles into the field. Nobody got hurt. It was initially unclear what caused the fire in the field.
