Essen (dpa / lnw) - In North Rhine-Westphalia mostly sunny and mild weather is expected for Wednesday. With maximum values between 10 and 14 degrees, there will be no precipitation, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced in Essen on Wednesday. At the peak of the street carnival on Thursday (Weiberfastnacht), on the other hand, dense clouds will gather from the north-west, at times it is supposed to rain lightly. Nevertheless, the carnival fans can look forward to mild temperatures of a maximum of 8 to 12 degrees. Mostly a moderate wind blows from the southwest.
On Friday it will continue to be very cloudy with occasional rain, from the afternoon the rain will intensify. The temperatures rise to 10 to 14 degrees. The meteorologists are expecting strong, occasionally stormy gusts. The prospects for Saturday are no better: According to the DWD, heavy clouds and prolonged rain at 10 to 12 degrees are to be expected.
