North Rhine-Westphalia: Ten years of drug investigation: sniffer dog retires

Bielefeld (dpa / lnw) - 29 kilos of marijuana, 7 kilos of cocaine, dozens of hashish biscuits: During his service, customs dog Elvis tracked down pretty much everything that drug dealers would have liked to hide from him. For more than ten years he worked at customs, searching cars, trucks, buses and trains for drugs. The main customs office in Bielefeld has now retired him on his twelfth birthday. "He will spend the rest of his life with the family of his customs dog handler," said the main customs office in Bielefeld on Monday.

His successor as a drug sniffer dog at customs in East Westphalia is called Skadi - the young bitch successfully completed her training a few days ago.
