North Rhine-Westphalia: Thioune is aiming for the first win against St. Pauli with Düsseldorf

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - Fortuna Düsseldorf's coach Daniel Thioune expects a challenging task in the home game against FC St. Pauli on Saturday (1 p.m.). "All the teams above us in the table had problems against St. Pauli. And they will also want to pose problems for us," said the coach on Thursday. Thioune, who has also worked as a coach at VfL Osnabrück and Hamburger SV, would like to improve his personal record in the match: "As a coach, I haven't been able to win against St. Pauli yet, but I'm working on changing that."

Fortuna is in sixth place in the table before the 14th match day and is going into the game against Hamburg with the momentum of two away wins in a row.

Thioune will be without suspended midfielder Marcel Sobottka on Saturday. The coach can plan for this with Dawid Kownacki, Michal Karbownik and Tim Oberdorf. All three players who recently struggled with injuries are ready for action. Defender and team captain Andre Hoffmann has also returned to team training after an injury.
