North Rhine-Westphalia: Three suspects identified after a shooting on the Altmarkt

Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - Two months after the shooting between rockers and members of a clan in Duisburg with several injuries, the police have identified three participants. A spokesman for the Duisburg public prosecutor's office confirmed a corresponding report by "WAZ" on Wednesday. The three men are currently not in custody and the investigation is ongoing, he said. Further information on the whereabouts, the affiliation of the possible shooters to one of the two groups and the general background are currently not possible.

On May 4th, at least 19 shots were fired and four people injured in a dispute between rockers and clan members at Duisburg Hamborner Altmarkt. According to initial information, around 100 people were involved in the conflict. According to the "WAZ", the procedure is aimed at 51 suspects.

After the outbreak of violence, the police installed two mobile video surveillance systems in the square for four weeks. At the beginning of June, the cameras were dismantled again. "We don't currently see any new areas of crime here, but we will continue to have a strong presence and keep an eye on the situation on the ground," explained Duisburg police chief Alexander Dierselhuis. "Should any form of escalation become apparent here, we will act immediately."
