North Rhine-Westphalia: To save energy in the indoor pool - "shower tariff" decided

Herne (dpa / lnw) - 30 minutes in the warm to shower and blow dry - in the "Wananas" family and leisure pool in Herne, a so-called shower tariff is being introduced for people who want to save costs with increased energy prices. The supervisory board decided to introduce the tariff on January 1, with which you can spend 30 minutes in the pool for 1.50 euros, said Hans-Lothar Przybyl, managing director of the Herner bath company, on Thursday. The "WAZ" had previously reported about it.

"Showers, toilets, blow-drying and a few laps of swimming, if you can manage that" - according to Przybyl, this is possible with the short-term tariff. The managing director of the bathing company had previously explained that the aim was to offer people a secure framework who, for cost reasons, make the water colder at home and are worried about additional payments. The "shower tariff" should first apply for six months, according to Przybyl, in June they want to evaluate how things will continue.

According to a sample calculation with the "shower calculator" of the NRW consumer advice center, you can shower for 1.50 euros at home for almost 10 minutes (water heating with electricity, energy prices from June 2022).
