North Rhine-Westphalia: traffic jam due to defusing World War II bombs

Dortmund (dpa / lnw) - The defusing of World War II bombs has led to major traffic disruptions in the Dortmund area. According to the city, four duds from the Second World War were found during construction work. Three 250-kilogram bombs and a 125-kilogram dud were to be defused on Thursday. In the course of the defusing, among other things, a blocking of the B1 in both directions was announced. This also affects drivers on the busy A40 in the area. According to an overview by the Ministry of Transport, there was a traffic jam as a result of the B1 being closed. According to the data, drivers had to plan 45 minutes to an hour more time there on Thursday afternoon.
