Wuppertal (dpa / lnw) - A truck driver crashed into a bridge pillar on Autobahn 46 in Wuppertal and died. The busy autobahn between Düsseldorf and Wuppertal was closed for hours during rush hour on Wednesday morning. Motorists were stuck in traffic for more than an hour. It was initially unclear when the lanes could be at least partially reopened. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, a police spokeswoman said. For the investigators, it was initially unclear why the truck driver crashed into the bridge pillar at the construction site.
