North Rhine-Westphalia: truck with animals stolen and drove against the wall

Gütersloh (dpa / lnw) - A presumably drunk woman is said to have stolen a truck loaded with chickens and geese in the Gütersloh district and driven it against a wall. According to the police on Monday, the woman lost the transport crates with the birds from an open side part of the truck in a curve and crashed into the wall. They are also said to have damaged a street sign and a gate. It was initially unclear whether the animals were harmed in the incident on Saturday night. According to a police spokeswoman, the background is still open. A preliminary investigation was initiated against the 34-year-old woman.
