North Rhine-Westphalia: Twelve-year-old climbs onto freight car: electrocuted

Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - When playing on the premises of a freight station in Duisburg, a boy was fatally injured by an electric shock. The twelve-year-old climbed onto a freight car in the Meiderich district early on Sunday evening, the fire department said on Sunday evening. After the rail traffic was stopped and the overhead line was switched off and grounded, the child could be saved. It was taken to a special clinic with severe burns. No further information on the state of health could be given, said a fire department spokesman on Monday when asked.
