Lüdenscheid (dpa / lnw) - A twelve-year-old boy was hit by a truck on the last day of school before the Christmas holidays in Lüdenscheid and was seriously injured. As the police announced on Thursday, the boy was on his way to school in the morning when he was overlooked by a truck driver (46) turning right at an intersection, despite the green traffic light.

The student was dragged along and suffered serious injuries. He was in the hospital, but not in acute danger of death, the police said. The truck also had the green light at the traffic light, but should have let the boy cross the street. A drug test on the driver from Iserlohn was also positive. Driver's license and vehicle were confiscated.
