North Rhine-Westphalia: Two cyclists seriously injured after a collision

Paderborn (dpa / lnw) - Two cyclists were seriously injured in a collision in Paderborn. A 40-year-old was driving on a bike path on Tuesday when another man suddenly drove over a wooden bridge onto the same path and collided with him, the police said on Wednesday night. The 40-year-old man probably suffered a broken shoulder, the 57-year-old a head laceration, several broken ribs and probably a broken collarbone. The smell of alcohol was noticed in the older man, which is why a blood sample was ordered, it said. Both men are said not to have been wearing a helmet and were taken to a hospital on Tuesday evening.
