North Rhine-Westphalia: Uncomfortable start to the week: friendlier again from Wednesday

Essen (dpa / lnw) - The new week begins in North Rhine-Westphalia with thunder and lightning. People in the country have to be prepared for showers and thunderstorms on Monday, as a meteorologist from the German Weather Service (DWD) said in Essen on Sunday. Strong thunderstorms with squalls and heavy rain are also possible.

The whole thing starts in the morning in the West and intensifies as the day progresses. The southeast half is particularly affected. Even storms cannot be ruled out. In between, it can also loosen up again and again - with high temperatures of 27 to 30 degrees. According to the DWD, up to 33 degrees can be reached in the east.

On Tuesday it was a little calmer and cooler, said the expert. A few showers are expected again, but no thunderstorms. Otherwise it is variable to heavily cloudy with a maximum of 22 to 25 degrees.

According to the information, the weather will become friendlier again in the middle of the week. On Wednesday it will remain dry with similar temperatures and the sun will appear more frequently.
