North Rhine-Westphalia: Unknown steals Christmas packages

Hagen (dpa / lnw) - In Hagen, an unknown person stole several packages on the street in the midst of an ongoing delivery of Christmas shipments. As the police announced on Christmas Eve, a postal worker brought the last Christmas parcels to the front doors on Friday and left her parcel van unattended on the sidewalk for a moment. "A hitherto unknown perpetrator took advantage of this and took several packages with unknown content." A search was initially unsuccessful.

The driver of a parcel transporter in Iserlohn also had bad luck. His vehicle caught fire on Christmas Eve. The driver parked the car and quickly cleared it, a fire department spokesman reported. The packages had been reloaded - so no one had to wait in vain for their Christmas mail here.
