North Rhine-Westphalia: warehouse in Essen is on fire

Essen (dpa / lnw) - A fire broke out on Monday evening on the premises of a disposal company in Essen. Parts of an approximately 1000 square meter warehouse with mixed waste are on fire, as a fire department spokesman said in the evening. The smoke has now subsided. Emergency services pulled the garbage apart and extinguished it. The spokesman assumed that the work will continue throughout the night. Pictures published by the "Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung" ("WAZ") showed a huge cloud of smoke over the area. According to the fire department, there were no injuries in the operation until late in the evening.
