North Rhine-Westphalia: wasp alarm: police officers buy fly screens for the elderly

Bochum (dpa / lnw) - After a wasp alarm, police officers in Bochum bought a senior citizen a fly screen at their own expense. An 88-year-old called the emergency number because at least 30 wasps had flown into her apartment through an open window, the police said on Monday. The officers who arrived managed to push the wasps out of the apartment on both sides without injuries. But since the wasp's nest was on the facade of the house and the woman had to open the window to air it, they went to a nearby shop, bought a fly screen for the elderly woman at their own expense and installed it right away.

"The conclusion of the animal mission: 30 evictions from the apartment, an attached fly screen and a happy 88-year-old," reported a police spokeswoman on Saturday's mission.
