North Rhine-Westphalia: way home on the tracks: man falls under freight train

Bottrop (dpa / lnw) - On the way home from a hospital in Essen to his apartment in Bottrop, a man was hit by a freight train while crossing the tracks. According to the fire brigade, the 35-year-old was injured on Friday night, but not seriously, as a spokesman for the federal police said.

Accordingly, according to the engine driver, the man was very close to the tracks and was then hit by the train. After the rescue workers found him at the end of the train in the Welheim district of Bottrop, he was taken to a hospital after receiving first aid on site. A patient tape showed that he had previously been discharged from a hospital.

The fire brigade and police forcefully point out that walking on railway tracks is life-threatening.
