Herne (dpa / lnw) - According to the police in Herne, a man with a breath alcohol value of 4.96 per thousand caused an accident on an electric scooter. The 42-year-old fell with the vehicle and was seriously injured, the police said.

According to previous knowledge, the man lost control of the e-scooter on Friday evening and fell on the sidewalk. He was taken to a hospital in an ambulance for treatment. According to the police, the breath alcohol test carried out there showed a value of almost five per thousand. A blood sample was then taken from the man.

According to the Federal Center for Health Education, a concentration of more than three parts per thousand can be life-threatening or fatal.
