Euskirchen (dpa / lnw) - A woman was found dead on New Year's Day while extinguishing fires in a house in Euskirchen. The fire brigade was alerted to a fire in the early afternoon and moved to the family home in a residential area. During the extinguishing work, the rescue workers found a lifeless woman in a kitchen, the police said on Sunday afternoon.
The identity of the dead has not yet been finally clarified. A fire department spokesman said that the woman was probably the only resident of the house. The police did not yet have any information about the cause of the fire. The police has started investigation.
