Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU) and his ministerial team will receive more money from December 1st. According to the Ministry of the Interior, Wüst will earn 533.97 euros more per month, the ministers 480.57 euros. The “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger” had previously reported on this on Wednesday.
Background: On December 1st, the salaries of civil servants in the country will increase by 2.8 percent. This also applies to Wüst and the ministers - their official salaries are linked to civil servants' salaries. According to the Ministerial Act, the Prime Minister receives the highest salary level B11 plus a third. Ministers get B11 plus a fifth.
Wüst earns at least 20,650 euros gross per month, including his service expense allowance of 1,100 euros. The exact amount remains unclear, because it does not include the family allowance per child and compensation to which the prime minister and ministers are entitled if their primary residence is not at the seat of government. For reasons of privacy protection, the state government does not provide any information on either item.
The ministers, who receive 600 euros service expense allowance, will earn a total of around 19,000 euros from December 1, excluding the family allowance and the commuter allowance.
The Association of Taxpayers (BdSt) in North Rhine-Westphalia pointed out in the "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger" that the highest salary levels could also be decoupled from the general wage increases. The fact that ministers, judges or individual mayors automatically get the same increase as a "normal" civil servant is no longer up to date. According to the taxpayers' association, there is nothing to be said against rates of increase differentiated by salary groups.
