North Rhine-Westphalia: Wüst at the reading day in school

It's November, the weather is uncomfortable - you can retire with a book. On the Reading Day in 2022, a sign is to be set again for the importance of reading aloud. The Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia is also taking part.

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - North Rhine-Westphalia's Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU) and other members of his state government are also taking part in the nationwide reading day this Friday. Wüst reads in a community elementary school in Düsseldorf, Minister of Education Dorothee Feller (CDU) in a community elementary school in Neuss. Family Minister Josefine Paul (Greens) takes part in the nature kindergarten "The Wild Boar Gang" in Langerwehe (Düren district).

The joint initiative of the weekly newspaper "Die Zeit", the Reading Foundation and the Deutsche Bahn Foundation has been highlighting the importance of reading aloud every November since 2004. This year, the motto of the day is "Unique together" and, according to the organizers, is intended to celebrate "the diversity of our society as an everyday enrichment and connecting element". Other topics are also welcome: "The main thing is that it is read - no matter where and how."
