Wuppertal (dpa / lnw) - A 40-year-old traveler was attacked and injured in a train shortly before Wuppertal from a group of 16 young people. Several young people first tried to spit on the man and then hit him in the face, the federal police reported on Friday. When the Regionalexpress 4 stopped at Wuppertal Central Station, the group fled the train.

Federal police officers were able to pick up three young people. One of them, a 14-year-old, was identified by the victim. An ambulance took the 40-year-old to a hospital with a head injury. Criminal proceedings were initiated against the 14-year-old for dangerous bodily harm.
