Cologne (dpa / lnw) - The former Youtuber meeting Videodays is to return to Cologne in autumn with a new concept. The organizers and the Film and Media Foundation NRW, which sponsors the event, announced this on Tuesday. On September 6th and 7th, 2022, they want to focus "above all on the exchange of content and getting to know each other personally among like-minded people" - "far away from the former stadium atmosphere". Most recently, there was the Videodays in Cologne in 2017. The gathering was known for long queues, with mostly teenage fans queuing excitedly to snap selfies with their idols from YouTube and other social media platforms. The meeting last took place in the huge Lanxess Arena in Cologne. The social media industry has changed a lot since then.
"Our mission is to establish a new meeting place for the creator economy in Cologne in the long term, which embodies today's zeitgeist," explained the organizer. The new venue is no longer the arena, but an event location in the west of Cologne.
