Bielefeld (dpa / lnw) - The bear Jule in the home animal park Olderdissen in Bielefeld died at the age of 32 for the animals. The city of Bielefeld announced that her animal keeper found her lifeless in her box on Wednesday morning. "Everything suggests that Jule fell asleep peacefully that night, so we assume that she died of natural causes," said Herbert Linnemann, director of the zoo.
As a rule, brown bears live up to 30 years. Despite osteoarthritis, Jule was last still active, it said. She was 15 years in the zoo. The body is now to be examined by a veterinarian.
