Off after seven seasons: "Chez Krömer" ends surprisingly with a Kawusi episode

After 41 interrogatory interviews with his guests, moderator Kurt Krömer says: "My need for assholes is covered." His broadcaster, Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg, announced the end of the "Chez Krömer" show. So the last episode remains a very special one.

The hit show "Chez Krömer" by Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) with Kurt Krömer ends after seven seasons and 41 episodes. This makes the current episode with comedian Faisal Kawusi the last of the show, as the broadcaster announced. The first program was broadcast in September 2019.

Krömer received two Grimme awards for his show. The first was in 2020, two years later moderator Kurt Krömer and comedian Torsten Sträter each received one for their conversation with "Chez Krömer" about depression.

Krömer always greeted his guests in the manner of an interrogation. He confronted her with a file and video clips. In some episodes he felt his guests very much on the tooth. At times, however, he was taken in by rhetorically adept professionals.

The last episode with the comedian Faisal Kawusi caused a small scandal. Krömer broke off the conversation prematurely several minutes before the end. It had previously been about Kawusi's missteps. His justifications and explanations were apparently not enough for Krömer on the show. "You only talk shit," said the moderator. Kawusi can now "piss off". Krömer then left the stylized interrogation room.

According to the RBB press release, Krömer now says it is time for "new artistic adventures". It was clear to him that "Chez Krömer" was not a format that would run forever. "I was surprised that it ended up being 41 episodes - my need for assholes is covered with it."

To what extent the scandal of the last episode could have played a role at the end of the show was not clear from the RBB announcement.
