Ornate. Threety-three year after his wife disappeared, he confesses that he killed her

Is this the end of a mystery On Tuesday, a man was charged with kidnapping in Orne and forcible confinement. 33 years later, he confessed to strangling his wife. Her body was never recovered.

The facts of the disappearance date back to 1989. However, it was "reported" by the two daughters, now adults, on September 15, 2021.

According to Ouest France, the children who were then adults were aged six months and three in 1989. The regional newspaper reports that "During their hearings they have memories come back to them were their father," now 62, "mentioned, just a few times, having killed their mother." The newspaper adds that the spouse had told anyone who would listen that his wife had a lover, and that she had had the to "flee with" him at the time of events.

One of the first elements of the preliminary investigation revealed a variety of clues that suggested that the young lady had not left her home of her own accord. According to the prosecution's press release, the preliminary indictment was filed on April 25, 2022 on the charge of "arrest, kidnapping, and forcible confinement before the 7th day".

The suspect was taken into police custody Monday after he admitted to having strangled his wife. According to Ouest France, he still claimed that he killed his wife using a wire from a phone and then buried her body.

Investigative efforts are underway to find the location of the body. A judge of freedoms and imprisonment issued an order for placement under judicial surveillance. This order was appealed by the prosecution.
