AFP was able to confirm information from the Parisian that fourteen people were arrested for trafficking fake tickets to the Louvre Museum.

Paris Conurbation Local Security Department officers (DSPAP), "carried out an extensive operation aimed at dismantling traffic in counterfeit tickets", which were sold to tourists waiting in line in front of the Parisian Museum's doors. According to a police source, this operation allowed for the arrest of 14 people. Eight of them were taken into police custody. "The six other suspects, who were in an unusual situation, were taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation."

Le Parisien reports that members of the network collected electronic or paper tickets from museum visitors, and then resold them to others for more than their purchase price.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, around 10 million people visited the Louvre Museum each year. It had 2.8 million visitors in 2021.
