The community of Dieulefit-Bourdeaux has decided to increase its financial aid. Previously, it was only earmarked for the purchase an electric bike (in the amount 100 euros without means testing). The elected officials met in Poet-Laval on Thursday, June 9, to vote for a fixed aid for the purchase a bicycle.
Genevieve Morenas, vice-president responsible for the Defi Climat Commission, stated that 35 people were able to benefit from the first aid in 2021 to purchase a VAE in 12 localities. She also stated that this made it possible for state aid to be unlocked for eligible households (households earning less than 13,469 euros/share). Mountain bikes are expected to account for more than 40%, while city bikes will make up 25%. The rest of the funds can be shared between cargo bikes and hybrid bikes.
This aid can now be used to purchase a second-hand bike or an electrification kit, up to 100 euro. Many people think that buying a new bicycle is too costly. New mechanical bikes will be eligible to receive 50 euro aid. Subsidized leisure bikes exceeding 3,000 euros won't be available. A ceiling of 5,000 euro has been set for cargo bikes. It is possible to help young people aged 16 and older who use their bike for a home/to-work trip.
"A report at year's end would be useful if we don't prioritize mountain biking for leisure use more than city bikes," reacted Dieulefitois Jacques Gleyze.
"In total there are approximately twenty requests in process", the elected official responsible for this file stated. The CCDB released a budget limit of 5,000 euros in 2022.
