A person was seriously wounded late Friday morning in a shooting on the Far South Side in the South Deering neighborhood, police said.
According to preliminary information, about 11:45 a.m., a male victim, whose age was not available, was approached by a gunman and shot him in the stomach and right side, police said.
The gunman fled the scene in a maroon van, police said.
The victim was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
No one was in custody for the attack .
