Petition calls for eviction: "Aquaman 2" without Amber Heard?

It's not the first time rumors are circulating that Amber Heard won't be in the second part of "Aquaman" after all. 4.5 million people are calling for her to be kicked out of the franchise - but the actress is sticking to her role.

Will Amber Heard appear in the second part of the superhero movie "Aquaman" or not? The rumor mill surrounding her role in the flick has simmered again after US gossip site Just Jared revealed that Heard has now been completely cut from the film. Press spokesman for the 36-year-olds denied this assumption.

A spokesman for the actress gave US media such as "Entertainment Weekly" the statement: "The rumor mill continues just as it has done since day one - untrue, insensitive and slightly insane." According to the report, the claims that all scenes involving Heard had been cut from the film and that they wanted to recast her role were false. Just Jared also previously reported that Heard's co-stars Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman would be reshooting some scenes.

In the past there have been repeated calls for Amber Heard to quit the franchise. As a result of the public court battle between her and ex-husband Johnny Depp, Depp lost his job in Fantastic Beasts 3. Heard, on the other hand, kept her big Hollywood role in the comic book adaptation. A circumstance for which numerous film fans showed no understanding. An online petition entitled "Remove Amber Heard from 'Aquaman 2'" now has over 4.5 million signatures.

In mid-May, the actress revealed during the court case between her and Depp that her role in "Aquaman 2" was allegedly cut. She "fought really hard to stay in the movie," she told industry magazine The Hollywood Reporter at the time. According to their statements, those responsible would no longer have wanted them in the film.

Warner Bros. production company spokesmen have not yet commented on how Heard will appear in Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on March 17, 2023.
