Politics The PP sees itself closer to Moncloa after 8-M and does not rule out joining Vox: "We will govern with what we can"

While the Government burns, Feijóo plays the lyre. The leadership of the PP observes "the circus" of the internal crisis of the Executive with astonishment, but also with a half-satisfied smile, seeing how PSOE and Podemos "cook in their own broth." «We have never seen such a thing: one half of the Government votes against the other. And one half makes a demonstration against the other half, “sources from the popular said yesterday. "It's unpresentable."

For the leadership of Genoa, "this Government is in office" after the breakdown of voting unity regarding the Law of only yes is yes and after the harsh exchange of reproaches between United We Can - above all - and the PSOE in the rostrum congressional. "We went from the coalition to the collision and, now, to the demolition" and "to the insult", they stressed in the PP.

In this situation, Genoa already sees Feijóo closer to La Moncloa. But with a change: he has gone from considering the local and regional elections on May 28 as the first round of his victory to seeing them as a mere "crossing the equator." "The change of cycle is going to take place in December," they stress in Genoa. In other words, in the general ones, which is where they will put all their efforts.

At that strategic point, the popular leaders openly acknowledge that Feijóo wants to govern alone... but he will not refuse to join Vox if he has no other alternative: "We are going to govern with what we can." "We would like the investiture to be facilitated by the PSOE," they say, but they do not see it feasible today. Feijóo "would facilitate the investiture of Sánchez" if he were the most voted. What he asks in return is that this commitment be "reciprocal."

Does this mean that the PP is already opening up to agreements with Vox after the May 28 elections? Not explicitly: "We are going to see what happens together, but it is not the same that you need 4 [votes for the investiture] than 14," the same sources explained yesterday in the Senate. This means that Feijóo does not rule out a coordinated decision with the barons on hypothetical post-electoral pacts, but that will depend on how much the PP needs Vox's support.

In some autonomies, such as the Valencian Community, Castilla-La Mancha or Aragon, the polls suggest that the popular could only add the parliamentary majority, in his case, by the hand of Abascal's party. Feijóo has given the candidates freedom to make the lists, but it is still unknown if he will give them the same stripes at the witching hour of the pacts. Other sources of the PP are clear: "Where it joins, we will govern." And Feijóo's team believes that this can happen "perfectly" in Extremadura, the Balearic Islands, La Rioja, Aragón, Castilla-La Mancha and the Valencian Community.

Why does the PP already handle these post-electoral scenarios? For two reasons. The first, because the surveys place him above 32% and he believes that his income will increase. The second, because, for Feijóo's team, Sánchez "no longer has authority in the Government" and that, they believe, will give the finishing touch to his demoscopic expectations. So, does the PP believe that the coalition will blow up? No. «Resisting is the only plan of the Government. They will resist. They will agree to a law that interests them and they will continue, “explain the same sources.

And that is why -they say- Sánchez brought up yesterday, in Congress, the photo of Feijóo with the narco Marcial Dorado. "Marta Sánchez came to mind with the song Desperate," said a PP leader.
