Isabelle Balkany (74), is currently receiving "post-operative treatment at her home" after being diagnosed with cancerous tumors, her lawyer said to BFMTV Monday.
Pierre Olivier Sur (his lawyer) informed Pierre Olivier Sur that the ex-first assistant to Levallois-Perret, (Hauts-de-Seine), underwent at the hospital a "surgical operation for the removal part of a lungs". He added that post-operative complications developed after the procedure, which took 5 hours.
His health is still very fragile and alarming.
His counsel stated that "His health status remains extremely fragile and worrying."
A source close to the situation at Agence France Presse said that Isabelle Balkany was discharged from hospital Saturday after she attempted suicide. She is currently "convalescing at her home in Giverny" (Eure).
Pierre-Olivier Sur declined to confirm the information "for three reasons": professional secrecy for a lawyer, medical secrecy, and a requirement of dignity.
The courts were to summon Isabelle Balkany (wife of Patrick Balkany), former LR mayor in Levallois-Perret. Justice in February revoked his three-year sentence for tax evasion and placed him under an electronic bracelet. This meant that he was incarcerated. Because of her medical condition, she was unable to be imprisoned.
