In 2021, after a one-year Corona break, the Verein für Popkultur will celebrate the favorite artists of the year again. At the beginning of October, the sixth edition of the award ceremony is scheduled for which old warriors and young wild ones alike are nominated.
Six years ago, the non-profit association for the promotion of pop culture e.V. created the "Prize for Pop Culture". The "Echo" had only just disappeared from the scene, and so the still young award has since functioned as a kind of successor, but is completely independent of any sales figures. Rather, the nominees are selected by the jury consisting of the members of the association and then released for voting. This year's potential winners again include old heroes as well as a large number of up-and-coming artists.
A total of ten categories are available. From your favorite band, favorite album, favorite artist, favorite song, favorite producer and favorite video to the most promising newcomer and the most impressive live show, everything is there.
Big names like Casper, Die Ärzte, Beatsteaks and Tocotronic are among the nominees for the award ceremony, which will take place on October 4th in Berlin's Admiralspalast. But above all up-and-coming young acts, including Schmyt, Alli Neumann, ÄTNA, Antje Schomaker, Betterov, Paula Hartmann and Team Scheisse, can hope for an award.
The club's website was able to vote up until the end of July, so the winners for next Tuesday evening have long been known. In addition to industry representatives and club members, there will of course also be a large number of musicians on site in Berlin, some of whom will take care of the appropriate supporting program. Fans interested in attending can tune in via the live stream hosted on the Pop Culture Awards website.
