The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced the semifinalist list for the seniors and coaches/contributors' categories for the Class of 2023.

There are 25 senior candidates and 29 coaches/contributors.

A 12-member seniors committee of the Hall reduced the eligible nominees' list to 25 semifinalists. The remaining candidates include: Ken Anderson; Maxie Baughan; Roger Craig, Lester Hayes and Chris Hinton.

A player cannot be eligible to run for office as a senior candidate if he has not played in any professional football games after 1996.

The Hall's 12-member coach/contributor team reduced the number of nominees to 29 semifinalists. K.S. Roone Arledge, C.O. Brocato. Don Coryell. Otho. Davis. Ralph Hay. Frank "Bucko" Kilroy. Now, the respective selection committees will reduce the lists to 12 seniors or 12 coaches/contributors. These individuals will advance to the final stage for nomination. The Hall will announce those results July 27.

Aug. 16 will be the last day of the seniors committee meeting. It will select three seniors to finalize their selections for membership in Class of 2023. The expansion of the seniors pool to elect the Hall members was approved earlier in the year for the Classes 2023, 2024, and 2025.

The coach/contributor group will meet virtually August 23rd to choose one contributor or coach for final consideration in the Class of 2023.
