Talking about rugby is like opening a Pandora's Box of perspectives and possibilities. It's about telling stories and thinking about the future. It's to travel, laugh, learn, and be moved. "Raffut", a 160 page mook magazine published by "Sud Ouest" is available on newsstands starting Tuesday, May 31.
"Raffut," as we stated on the cover, is more than a review of rugby. It is proof of the universality of this sport, that the oval ball bounces differently everywhere on the planet. It has no gender or border. But it does have a bright history and a bright future, as carried by the French team we envision in the firmament.
"Raffut" was created with the World Cup in mind, which will be held in France between September 8 and October 28, 2023. Five issues are planned for the time being, with the exception of the planetary rendezvous. This review corresponds with our coverage of rugby. Its special envoys continue to travel the globe, traversing France, Europe, and even the United States. Our correspondents' networking makes it possible for us to expand and complete our offer. "Raffut," in keeping with its tradition as a rugby newspaper, remains faithful to this dimension.
"Raffut" refers to a desire for content, via beautiful paper objects, that is fully in line with rugby's culture, but not out of sync with what is available on this thematic. This is a way to communicate the cultural aspect of this sport. Rugby is a culture. Not only in the "South West", but all over the globe. Rugby is a cross-cutting theme that combines travel, literature, history and the game of rugby. Not to be forgotten is the vitality of rugby in our society. These foundations are the basis of "Raffut".
"Raffut" asked the editors at "Sud Ouest", to help him feed this issue. Many collaborators, writers, photographers, illustrators and journalists have enriched the team. Some are already familiar with the oval while others are making their first steps. They all contributed enthusiastically.
What is in "Raffut?" Literally and metaphorically, the great report occupies a spot of choice, to share poignant friendships, amazing encounters, and explosive moments. We also wanted to emphasize the importance of the image in this sport. There are many drawings throughout the pages, such as those by Emilie Seto that add a refreshing touch. Because fashion and gastronomy go together, we will also discuss them.

We have decided to offer "Raffut", a crowdfunding product, in presale through Ulule. It was a successful crowdfunding campaign that enabled us to connect with and keep the community who joined the project. The community is also supporting "Raffut", three other associations (Ovale citoyen Drop de Beton, Colosse aux pieds d'argile), which use rugby to promote inclusion, integration, and solidarity. So, the first purchasers of the journal can choose to financially support them. In order to support their actions, the funds raised were divided among the three structures.
"Raffut," which relies on partners, business leaders, and rugby enthusiasts, was also founded.
