Raj Kaushal said to Mandira Bedi that he was having a heart attack
  • Sulaiman Merchant, music director, said Raj Kaushal had told Mandira Bedi, actress-television presenter, that he was having a heart attack. Raj, who was 49 years old, died from a cardiac arrest on Wednesday morning.

Raj Kaushal was buried at Shivaji Park crematorium in Dadar. Ronit Roy, Sameer soni, Ashish Chowdhry and Dino Morea, his close friends in the industry, were there. Hansal Mehta, Neha Dhupia and Onir, as well as film personalities like Hansal Mehta and Vicky Kaushal, have paid tribute to Raj.

Sulaiman Merchant stated to a leading daily that Raj was feeling uneasy at night. He took an antacid pill. Raj informed Mandira he was having a heart attack. Mandira quickly acted and called Ashish Chaudhary who ran to their rescue. Mandira and Ashish took him to the car, but he was becoming increasingly confused. If I am not mistaken, they took him to the Lilavati Hospital. They realized that he didn't have a pulse within 5-10 minutes. It was too late to get to the doctor. Sulaiman said Raj had also suffered a heart attack in the past. He stated, "I believe he was 30-32 at the time." They took great care of him after the attack and he has been doing fine ever since.

Raj was also mentioned by Sulaiman, "I have lost my friend of 25-years." Since the time he was helping Mukul Anand on Dus, I have known him. His house was my home once, back many months ago. Salim and me composed the music for his first film Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. He was always in touch with me. He offered his Madh island bungalow to us when we were starting our album Bhoomi 2020. But, eventually, we decided not to shoot there. This is just the beginning of what's shocking.

Raj directed films like Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi, with Mandira Bei. In 1989, he started his career as a writer and worked as an assistant director for Mukul Anand. He started his own company, Fuel Advertising Production, and directed over 800 commercials. Kaushal directed one of his last commercials with Vicky Kaushal.
