Report: Mike Gesicki and the Dolphins aren't really involved in contract negotiations

Players with franchise tags must sign long-term contracts with their current teams by July 15. It doesn't appear that there is much progress toward an agreement with Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki.

Mike Garafolo, NFL Media, reports that Gesicki has not been in contact with the Dolphins since Gesicki was tagged in the offseason. Gesicki will make $10.9million under the terms and conditions of the tag.

This year, two other issues were also tagged. David Njoku reached an agreement with the Browns on a four year deal worth more than $54 million. Dalton Schultz, however, is in the same boat that Gesicki as they enter the final week.

Gesicki signed the tag so he will be at training camp, even if there isn't a new contract. Gesicki, Schultz, and Bengals safety Jessie Bates (chiefs tackle Orlando Brown) are all set to continue the year under the tag.
