A fire on a tractor with a baler has spread to a field in Lohmen and caused a lot of damage. The fire was triggered on Wednesday in the Rostock district by a technical defect in the vehicle and spread to around 1.5 hectares on a stubble field, as the police announced in the evening. Officials estimated the damage caused at around 350,000 euros.
A total of 47 firefighters were on site to fight the fire and quickly got the fire under control. "However, the agricultural machinery burned to the full extent so that only controlled burning was possible," the police said.
