"RTL high diving": The candle from the ten

Bruises, red faces and a few spectacular jumps for eternity: 20 courageous celebrities earned imaginary bravery medals in the soaking wet "RTL high diving" spectacle.

In the packed Europasportpark in Berlin, Laura Wontorra, Jan Köppen and Frank "Buschi" Buschmann grin with anticipation. Finally the time has come. Finally, 20 selected celebrities face the water battle for the coveted "RTL Turmsprung 2022" title. Not only on site, but also at home on the dry couch, one asks oneself: art or agony? Glory or mockery? Six pack or belly?

"GZSZ" actor Felix van Deventer knows one thing in advance: "Today it's clapping!" Sounds the Hamburger. Curious ass bomb experts widen their eyes after the first individual runs. The high diving interns, who are intensively drilled by the elite trainers of the DSV, have some spectacular somersaults and twist jumps with them.

Whether moderator Lola Weippert, Ur-"Bachelor" Paul Janke, social media frontwoman Jolina Mennen or "Prince Charming" Nicolas Puschmann: They all make astonished faces in the hall. Even a Linda Nobat, who couldn't even swim six weeks ago, impresses with a graceful dolphin twill.

The candidates jump into the cool water from the three, five, 7.5 meter or ten meter tower (!), while trained DSV professionals behind the evaluation desks carefully examine all jump units and immersion sequences. In the individual competition, ex-gymnast Philipp Boy ultimately shoots down the quality bird. After a spectacular final double somersault jump, which earned him three top marks, the former all-around champion throws his arms in the air and celebrates.

Friends of cultivated boozy entertainment will also get their money's worth in the dubbing competition. In a double pack, the celebrities sometimes let fives be straight, which means that some parts of the body look like they have just been worked on with a baseball bat for hours after stepping out of the huge water basin. Blue, green and red spots everywhere: "GZSZ" star Felix van Deventer and Paralympic icon Mathias Wester in particular are looking forward to a soothing cooling pad treatment after painful face and back claps.

In addition to one or the other unwanted slapstick leap into the unknown, the celebrity squad present also served a surprising amount of high-end sport on a silver platter. At the forefront are the Weippert sisters Lola and Charlotte, who are constantly kissing and teasing each other. The two aging poster boys Marc Terenzi and Jay Khan also impress with pinpoint candles, even though the good Jay was "a water-shy pussy" for half his life.

In the end, the two "Ninja Warriors" Moritz Hans and Stefanie Edelmann prevailed with a daring candle performance from the ten-meter tower. However, the title and the associated glass winner's trophies quickly fade into the background. Somehow everyone is a winner. Candidates who have overcome their fear of heights are celebrated just as much as all the courageous competitive athletes.

So there is no holding back after the last commercial block. In honor of second-placed Jolina, moderator Frank Buschmann celebrated an impressive backflip from the edge of the pool. Jan Köppen and Hibbel world champion Jens Knossalla alias "Knossi" mark the end of the day. With karacho we go together from the ten-meter tower into the cool water. Can you do that?
