Marine Balanant, a licensed speed skater at Gap and ambassador for the Elite Hautes-Alpes club took part in Saturday's French road speed skating championship. The competition brought together 400 of the best speed skaters from France, Alencon, in Alne.

La Saint-Bonnetiere was one of the many long-distance runners who returned with a bronze medal in the points race over 10,000m. The day before, she finished 7th in the elimination race of 15,000 meters.

Marine was determined to exact revenge on Sunday. A points race is not like any other points race. She was unable to escape because she lost so much energy trying to stop breakaways. Marie Balanant, the mother of the skater, said that she won a well-deserved bronze award.

She says, "Since March, Marine has been lined up competition after competition. She will rest on Pentecost weekend, before beginning the 2nd stage in Madeira, on June 12, and the final stage in Seyssel on June 19. A XXL marathon, with its 103 km.
