His latest film, Pathaan, grossed more than 5 billion rupees ($60 million) in less than a week, according to The Times of India and The Indian Express, among others. The 57-year-old is one of the most famous and popular Indian actors with millions of fans in his homeland and around the world. He became famous as a romantic lover in love films. Prior to Pathaan, he had taken a few years off from larger roles. Khan explained his creative hiatus by saying he wanted to spend more time with his family after three decades of 18-hour days.
